8 May, 2014: Michael Page, part of global recruitment firm PageGroup, has today launched the inaugural Michael Page Hong Kong 2014 Awards for Retail Store Professionals. With two categories, Retail Store Person of the Year 2014 and Retail Store Manager of the Year 2014, the awards aim to discover and recognise talented retail sales professionals and managers that have displayed exceptional professionalism while carrying out their role.“We are pleased to launch the inaugural Michael Page Hong Kong 2014 Awards for Retail Store Professionals and excited to discover and help develop Hong Kong’s own retail stars,” says Sharmini Wainwright, Regional Director, Michael Page Hong Kong. “The retail industry in Hong Kong is iconic, and we are keen to invest in recognising the achievements within. We are looking for applicants who are passionate about the retail industry and have enhanced the shopping experience of others through their exceptional service standards.”Covering professionals in Hong Kong and Macau, the campaign is open to all Hong Kong and Macau residents currently employed in a role where their primary responsibility includes direct contact with customers. This could be retail sales individuals working in department stores, luxury retail, F&B or fashion and accessories. The Retail Store Person of the Year will focus on identifying outstanding store based retail staff members while the Retail Store Manager of the Year will recognise individuals in a leadership capacity in a retail store or collection of stores. The competition aims to reward local retail best practice while highlighting the importance of the retail industry.The winner of each award will receive HKD10,000 cash as well as a one-on-one career development session with an experienced recruitment consultant from Michael Page. In addition, each winner’s company will receive an online job advertising package worth HKD38,000.
