Volunteers were supported by a large, cheering crowd who packed the venue and set a generous and lively atmosphere.“PageGroup has been involved with the St Baldrick’s Charity Shave event over the past five years and we are proud to be doing our part to give kids living with cancer a better chance for a cure,” said Anthony Thompson, Regional Managing Director of PageGroup for Greater China.“I’m also particularly pleased that for the first time, my two young sons went under the razor and with this act, stand in solidarity with kids their age fighting cancer who typically lose their hair during treatment,” he added.PageGroup’s long-term commitment to St Baldrick’s has resulted in a contribution of close to US$100,000 donated to the charity, with money raised by staff, clients, candidates, friends and family of PageGroup. The company is committed to corporate social responsibility globally, and across its Asia Pacific businesses.“For five consecutive years PageGroup has fielded the team 'Michael Page Bald Dragons' at the St. Baldrick's Day Events. Not only has it been a positive experience for the members of the team, the donations raised have helped fund childhood cancer research projects being conducted by universities, hospitals and paediatric oncology research groups in Hong Kong,” said Richard Kligler, Managing Director, Hong Kong for St. Baldrick's Day Events."With each passing year, Anthony Thompson, captain of the Michael Page Bald Dragons, along with his team members have shown their commitment to this all important cause. And because of their dedication and support, the lives of children with cancer are being dramatically improved," Mr Kligler added.PageGroup’s corporate social responsibility activity also involves participation in the annual Great Wall Marathon held in Beijing, China, with the next event occuring in May. Volunteers, made up of around 130 staff from the business’s China offices as well as other office locations around the world, will run along the wall to raise donations for Operation Smile. We have raised material sums of money that has benefited people in need while at the same time, our employees have had the opportunity to be involved in incredibly meaningful causes and they have grown and developed through the process and become better human beings,” said Mr. Thompson.Media ReleasesOver Half of Greater China Employers Plan to Hire in 2015Global survey shows financial leaders becoming drivers of changeHong Kong’s employment market continues to display positive signs of growth View more...
